2021 Burch Farms CSA Program
Burch Farms was originated in 1779 by Elliot Burch. The legacy of Burch Farms continues into its seventh generation. Here on the farm we primarily raise apples, grapes and peaches and have established partnerships with other local farmers that raise produce we do not raise ourselves. These partners help us deliver the freshest and most nutritious produce in Erie County.
With an ever-changing agribusiness, it is becoming more important to involve our community and create a more direct relationship from farm to table. Consumers help share the risk associated with farming and reap the benefits when productions are at all time high levels. Over the past 20 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has guaranteed customers a box of produce every week so local consumers don’t miss out on the fruits and vegetables at the peak of each harvesting season.
Burch Farms is offering a CSA membership program for our members to receive a box of fresh fruits and vegetables each week, from June (the start of strawberry season) through the end of October, offering customers the freshest and most nutritious fruits and vegetables week after week. Members can expect to receive a wonderful combination of fruits and vegetables every week depending on what is at peak harvest. We are offering full shares for 20 weeks that will yield you 6-10 units of fruits and vegetables each week. We are also offering half shares for 20 weeks that will yield you 3-5 units of fruits and vegetables each week. A unit can vary from a quart of strawberries, a clam shell of raspberries, a bag of corn, a watermelon, ½ gallon cider or 3 zucchinis, etc. Units will vary depending on production. The following is a list of produce we typically offer: strawberries, asparagus, rhubarb, peas, beans cherries, raspberries, blueberries, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cantaloupe, cauliflower, sweet corn, cucumbers, pickles, eggplant, onions, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, gourds, summer squash, zucchini, tomatoes, watermelon, apples, peaches, grapes, pears, prunes, plums, nectarines, chestnuts and cider.
A CSA membership is a gamble, very similar to farming. There is not a guarantee to what items will be available. As a member, you are putting your trust and faith in Burch Farms to supply you with the freshest, most nutritious produce you can buy on a weekly basis. In the end, it is both of our goals to get you more produce for your dollar. Your CSA membership will save you 20% on the retail price of our fruits and vegetables. As an added option, Burch Farms Winery will be offering a bottle of wine in your produce box every other week with both the full and half memberships.
Your box will be packed and ready for pick up at our Farm Market every Wednesday between 10am-6pm. There will be an option for pick-up at our satellite farmers’ markets; location and days to be determined. We will also be delivering to surrounding locations if we receive 10 or more memberships requesting delivery.

Burch Farms CSA
Terms and Conditions
What is CSA? CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a group of paid members co-operating with a farmer by purchasing a membership in the Farmers program for a defined production period. This helps the farmer plan for how much produce is needed on a weekly basis. It also guarantees the member will receive the freshest, most nutritious produce at a 20% reduction in price as compared to our retail price.
Reasonable Expectations The growing season ahead of us is totally unpredictable. As a shareholder, you are guaranteed a box of whatever produce and or other items Burch Farms decides to share with you. The one aspect you need to keep in mind is that in June there is not a lot of crops harvested and by August there are numerous crops being harvested. Every week the volume in your box will be different and by September, some large items may not even fit in your box.
Comments and suggestions are always welcome

There may be unexpected failures of a vegetable or fruit crop, frost may result, reducing yield and quality. If any of these uncontrollable conditions occur, Burch Farms cannot be held responsible or liable. Each member also understands and agrees that membership cancellations are non-refundable.
